Foxboro Performance Horses was founded in 1996 and is based in the heart of England, just 20 miles south of Birmingham.  Our aim in starting our breeding programme was to breed warmblood foals of the highest possible calibre, at a competitive price and to this aim we use only the best available bloodlines from around the world and we still apply this standard today.

We believe that if foals are given the best possible start in life, using only the highest Graded Warmblood Stallions and Broodmares, with a winning pedigree, excellent conformation and a trainable temperament from BOTH parents, then they are in the best possible position to go on and achieve great things throughout their competition careers.  If the ability, conformation and temperament are there at the outset, then work and training should come easily to them.

ALL of our broodmares are Graded with Warmblood Studbooks, many with several, including The Warmblood Breeders Studbook - UK, (formerly the BWBS), The British Hannoverian Horse Society, The Anglo European Studbook and Sports Horse Breeders (GB).  Many have been Champions of Grading or Supreme Grading Champions gaining Select, State Premium and Elite titles. 

 

ALL of our mares are Multi-Champions in the Showring. 

The vast majority of our foals and youngstock have been shown in-hand, either with us or their new owners and ALL (when shown) have achieved National success, with top Judges and Breeders commenting on their superb temperaments, conformation and movement.

Our policy is to use only the very best available British and European Bloodlines with PROVEN performance, temperament and ability.

 

Our current broodmares and youngstock hold some of the best modern bloodlines in the World including:-

WARMBLOOD FOALS

We breed a maximum of 6 foals per year to ensure that they get the best start in life with individual attention and handling.  All foals are wormed at regular intervals and have their feet checked by our Farrier every 6 - 8 weeks for balancing and trimming as required. All have hard feed and are introduced to rugs at an early age so that when the weather turns and it is necessary to use them, it does not create a major problem.

Most of the foals are shown, with their Dam up to National level and they all obtain superb results.  Not surprisingly they tend to travel very well and we have had no 'problem loaders'. 

 

 

 

Several of the babies have achieved National success at shows such as The National In Hand, (Warmblood and Sports Horse Champions), The Royal Show, (Warmblood Champions and Hunter Champions), Breed Society Shows, (Supreme Champions) and the British Mare Championships, (Youngstock Reserve Champions and Breed Champions).

 

We firmly believe that youngstock should not be over shown and so prefer to be quite selective with how many shows we do.  Every horse is treated as an individual and is carefully monitored so that it is never asked to do more than it can comfortably cope with at that moment in time. 

We are, after all, dealing with the top equine athletes of the future and so do not want to cause any problems, either mentally or physically at this early stage.  All of our foals are precious to us and we treat them as such.

 

YEARLINGS, 2 AND 3 YEAR OLDS

Our Yearlings, 2 and 3 year olds continue their education with daily handling and the occassional show.  We have had outstanding success with them in the Showring at County and National level, where Judges have commented on their quality and temperaments.  Our 2 and 3 year olds are also given time to mature as we find that when the time comes to back them, this makes the whole process a lot less stressful and we have had no problems at all in starting their ridden training.

HOME PRODUCED RIDDEN WARMBLOODS

Our oldest home produced horses are now 13 year olds and have achieved all that we initially hoped they would.  ALL, when presented, have Graded with Warmblood Studbooks, many gaining Select or Elite titles, some as Grading Supreme Champions, and are now producing the next generations.  Many have become successful in the Showring and are competing at County and National level.  They are also making their mark in the Dressage world, not only in Affilliated classes but also in Young Horse Classes where we have had several highly placed and the highest placed mare at the Finals of the Badminton Young Dressage Horse where she beat 35 of the top young horses in the country.  We also have some horses competing in affilliated Eventing up to Advanced, and several on the National Showjumping Circuit.

 

WE CAN PROVIDE REFERENCES FROM OWNERS ALL STATING HOW WELL BROUGHT UP OUR HORSES ARE AND ALL - WITHOUT FAIL - SING THEIR PRAISES!!!  HOW MANY BREEDERS ARE CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO DO THIS???

 

 

All of our Warmblood Foals and Youngstock hold Warmblood Full Studbook Passports with those important 'pink papers' and so ALL are eligible for Breed Society Shows and also Stallion and Mare Gradings.
